Every once in a while a painting will surprise me with the foundational patterns as well as the colors. I tend to lean toward blues and greens, but love when warmer tones emerge. The color and form of this painting reminds me of the sand dunes of Utah or the veins of a flower petal. The steps I find myself taking outside of my comfort zone always wind up somewhere beautiful.
